Seriously people, when are the after market companies going to make a production model turbo for our cars. I know that our engines are not the fastest thing in the world and even with a turbo you would be getting only around 170-180, but hey I know I would buy one just because I could say I had a turbo in a 7th gen civic, how cool would that be!!!!

Sorry to break it to ya, but it is doubtful that anyone will make a turbo kit for the new D-series. it just doesn't generate enough power, has too many complications (small engine bay) and other misc crap that Honda has put on the engine to make it a good HP, good economy car. Even if you were to get a turbo, there aren't any rods, piston, head gaskets, etc for it so you will only be able run low boost unless you do lots of custom work. Until people start ripping apart the engine, doing custom stuff, and literally exploring the whole thing (which wont be for a few years) then there won't be much out except for simple bolts ons. I say the D series, if people decide to stick with it, won't get good parts until late 2004 or 2005.

robb does have a point, plus why would anyone get a gen 8 when you want a turbo, to get a gen 8 and then complain about not having turbos out for that car yet again. im just going to wait anyway cause i dont have any money now anyway haha
Originally posted by guamcivic2k1 yeah but by the time 8th gen civics come out...ppl will probably want to trade in their vic for an 8th gen...come one turbo kit!
I figure you got that right. Isn't that the way it always happens?
Maybe someday there will be some sort of mandatory Emissions and gas mileage laws and everyone will be scrambling to get old ULEV 7th generation Civics.
