B18C ITR or B16B CTR

So apparently, according to many shops up here, swapping an old engine into my 2005 Civic is apparently not a problem in terms of street legality. Not to mention, I have never had a cop pull me over and ask to see my engine...

Anyway, to the point, I am planning on swapping in a B18C ITR or a B16B CTR into my 2005 Civic. Reason being that I can't stand the D engines and I love these other two engines. Question being, I need mounts obviously since this is not a "normal" swap, so does anyone know of a place that makes mounts for crazy swaps like this? I also wanted to know if anyone knows of any clearance issues with this sort of swap. From eyeballing it, it didn't seem like there would be much trouble, but I thought I'd ask since I wasn't really able to find much by searching. Also, I have been told that turbos on VTEC engines are not smart since it's way too much strain on the internals to have the boost with the VTEC and I was wondering if there is any true merit behind said statement since I get mixed opinions about it. On the flip side, I was also told that only VTEC engines have the internals to handle said boost. Anyone able to fill me in on what is actually correct? I am not usually an FI person, hence why I don't know.

I realize this is a pain in the rear swap but that's going to be what makes it so fun. At least it isn't as crazy as trying to do a RWD conversion with a rotary... Why don't I do a K20? Cause I didn't think that $2k more was worth 20 more HP when a few tiny mods will give me 20 more HP...

So yes, any answers to my questions and/or advice welcome. =)

1. Totally Custom. Good luck with that.

2. 2k more for K20? More like 4K Less. I bet you this will run in the 10K range for this swap. EVERYTHING IS CUSTOM. There's 2 B-Series EM2 swaps in existance...Search for them. One IIRC is an salt flats racer that had a destroked B16. Pretty sure his username is Mirage

Illegal in the states? I don't live in the US btw... Anyone I have talked to so far has said that they never have heard of it being illegal in Canada.

Re: B18C ITR or B16B CTR

it's not illegal if its from a 2001 integra and you have a 2001 civic.

and it's also not worth it. k swap would be cheaper and smarter.

Re: B18C ITR or B16B CTR

It's going to take a hell of a shop to do this work... Like Hondercivic said, there's only been two, and I can only think of one. But that car was built by AEM with corporate backing.

The biggest issue is those engines just won't fit under the hood. It's not a matter of buying the mounts, it's just to get the axles and transmission to line up you won't be left with enough space to close the hood. At least that's what I've been told.

There's a very, very good reason this hasn't been done before. It's going to cost money out the ass for marginal performance gains.
