Needing some assistance and any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an 03 type R RSX front clip all the way back to the seats. I'm looking at doing a swap in my 01 civic ex. For one I have an automatic, which I have the pedal kit for already. Secondly is the ECU. Do I need to change out my ecu to maybe a civic si ecu? That I do not know. Also, since it is a 6speed, should I also change out the dash kit to a civic si and put the stick shift in the center console? Any help would be awesome. Has anybody done this??? 1 more thing. anybody know where I can order the engine mounts for this?

First of all, as for the ECU, you will use the actually TYPE R ecu or you can use a type s ecu/kpro to make it work. I would use the type S ecu since you can take advantage of the immobilizer function in our cars.
You dash kit, i'm taking as you mean your gauges, can be changed out if you really wanted it. As for me, i'm just changing mine out to the 02 civic manual cluster. You don't need to use the SI CLUSTER, then you would have to go through the trouble of actualyl re-wiring it to work in our cars.
Third, yes you have to switch out the center console part where you automatic shifter sits right now. You would have to order that part around your shifter to adapt to a manual shifter. Its confusing but yes you have to switch out that front part of your center console to the manual one.
since you're asking noob questions, i should warn you not to do it to a daily driver.
It takes a while and money to clean the bugs from the swap. It sucks to have a daily driver go through it but its not too bad if its a project car you have on the side. Trust me i figured it out the hard way.
If i could go back i'd look for and EK shell or even an em2 shell instead of screwing around with my daily driver.
^^ i thought you had another car that was your daily driver.
also, is it really that bad now? i know several members who done k swaps and they aren't really have any bugs at all. Just little check engine codes to clear, but nothing really major.
what major problems are you exactly talking about here? Since i'm doing this to my daily driver. I do have a really old car that i have on the side, but this is my main daily driver.
Upon further research i have stu, bled across a guy that made a writeup on how to do one of these things called a swap using a motor called a k20.. heres some pics

i used to have 2 cars but the sedan is now my wife's. So the civic is a daily driver.
its not impossible to have a bug free swap but its pretty difficult to. Unless every part you use is brand new and you've done swaps over a million times to the point that you can do it flawlessly and in your sleep. Trust me no swap is done without having issues here and there, as well as parts wearing out faster than stock parts wear out.
I have an 03 type R RSX front clip all the way back to the seats.
I don't think there is an RSX type R, I think it is still an Integra type R, anyway it is the same car. If it is actually an Integra type R (right had drive and all) front clip that is one hell of a find, where exacly did you get it?? Also if it is a true type R then you have some serious $ in parts that you really don't need to do the swap, the seats and gauge cluster alone would sell for alot $. Also does it have the type R front brakes still intact?? Could you post up pics I would really like to see this thing.

ok looking at transformedBG swap...i just noticed that my sub frame is missing the whole front motor mount part. It looks as if someone cut it off. I didn't noticed till now. So anyone here, know if that part is very very essential for the motor to bolt onto the subframe at that particular point?. I would think so, but dam it...i need another subframe now. crap.
^^wait wat? I don't get it. My subframe is missing that part where i circled up top. Its missing those two black mounting joints where the front motor mounts bolts onto it.
yeah well..i'm screwed at the moment. Need another subframe within the next month or so. Since i got an appt. for josh to put in the motor around mid june.
didnt you think something was up when you didnt use one of your hasport mounts?
Man that sucks, that you are missing that mount. I would have someone weld one on for you. BTW I don't think you use a Hasport mount for the front, I think it is the Acura Mount.

lol.. i have not been using the front mount for 2 years now.. lol
whoa whoa whoa...so we don't necessarily NEED to use the front mount??? let me know more about this. Might be able to save some money if i don't need it
i have never used it period... you can use it if you use a k20 swap.. but if you go with a k24 mount then its useless cause it sits the motor lower about an inch so that front mount wont even line up anymore.
the hasport only comes with 3 mounts.. driver side.. passenger side.. and rear mount

LOL, that sucks.. i like having a front motor mount, even my solid mount bushing for my k-swap didnt get rid of all my engine movement. Hince the front motor mount being needed for me!
