I am looking foward doing an intake manifold swap (d16y8) but the Y8 manifold don't have the EGR return channel, like on the D17 intake manifold (see black channel on the pic).
What did you do about it? No CEL showed up?

EGR.... well, i have a 2001 and my vic dont have EGR... so, i did'nt encounter that problem.....
i've done this awhile back now.... i think during C orndorff's time...ya bout a year ago... still dont have new pics... oh and recently i've done the vtec head swap... it feel's alot better than before...
I am in the process of doing the swap and not having the channel won't cause you a problem. The channel serves as an equalizer for the airflow into the intake side of our head or in other words the channel was Honda's answer to crappy engineering.

So this is not the EGR return??? where is he located then?
Are you sure?
The pics is from a 2003 civic. Some member said that they didn't have the channel. In what year did Honda introduce those airflow equalizer?
So, anyone with a d17a2 did the Y8 swap? What did you do with the EGR channels?
I did some reading, and everybody say that if you have a EGR valve you need it to be working, if not you'll have a CEL! And the EGR should increase power (a little bit) on our D17...
So I am stuck... what should I do with this EGR???
Could I simply direct it directly in the inatke manifold?
