hey guys,
i had the swap done 8,000 km's ago... but last nite, i switched on the car using my car starter (which i've always done and had no problems), and when i got into the car, there was smoke coming out of my engine bay.
I took out the key and my car wouldn't switch off... i tried everything, like putting the key back in and trying to switch it off. Nothing worked. I finally i stalled the car intentionally. Motor switched off, but then there was a sound like.. "tick tick tick tick tick...), in a really fast sequence. My lights started dimming. The ticking was coming from somewhere in the engine bay. By the time i ran and got the tool kit to unhook the battery, the sound finally died out, unhooked anyway.
WTF happened???

That ticking is the car wanting to crank over, but not getting enough power from your battery. Sounds like you burnt out your starter or it got stuck on somehow and burnt out then proceded to possibly drain your battery.

You beet me to it.. I was going to say that your starter probably got stuck on and then as the engine reved so did the starter. Might want to pull it and look at it.. and thats going to be a PAIN IN THE ASS!

ok.. so when i got the swap, was i suppose to get a new car starter accordingly? my car used to be auto... did a manual conversion. the car starter was for a civic but i have an rsx motor..? does it matter?
aww kasimm, hope you get that fixed! and in time for importfest too!
im pretty sure you need a k series starter, it would need more umph to start the motor using civic with 12volts compared to the k series starter. Probably a different load capability?
