The motor is complete and now it is in the car. Should be running within a few weeks. No more pics. I got zero rep and I doubt seriously that anyone that doesn't know how is going to be able to do this properly without assistance from someone who knows how. Besides, plastigauting a bearing clearance is pretty damned easy. If you're going to attempt this project, you should have a shop manual anyways and it tells you basically everything I covered and didn't cover. You know you can always hit me up on messenger or pm me if you need help, bro.

Break in period is more or less 500 miles but I'm going to break it in hard at over 300 whp. Just have to see what kind of hiccups I have when tuning. Should be running within a couple of weeks. I plan to tune sometime mid August.

i can see some noob trying this themselves with jackstands and blowing the engine on start up.
anyway your engine will be awsome once it is complete. u have always seemed to know the answers to my engine questions so i am sure your engine will be strong!

That being said, the documentation is great. You did a good job. I hope is works above your expectations. I wish I could contribute as good a thread as this one.

Everything is pretty well completed. Engine is in, bolted up and engine harness has been put in. Exhaust manifold and turbo is on, all lines are hooked up, I just have to get my block off plates to relocate the IACV and then I can put the intake manifold on. From there, I will fire it up and start putting some miles on it until I am able to get it tuned and dialed in. I have about 45 minutes of real work left to do, once I get the block off plates, I'm pretty well done. Should be running this coming weekend if all goes well. I'm really anxious to see the 12 second timeslip.

Lookin' good Andy!

I thought I might add a few comments relating to the ideas in this thread about stock sleeves. Check out this car I retuned a couple weeks ago:

I can't post links so you'll all have to copy/paste it into your browser window.

img.photobucket.com/albums/v386/llewsirc/final.jpg

441whp, 333torque.
Stock sleeves. SRP pistons. Eagle small-bolt rods.

This car is owned by the who I like to call the "hot-lap king". In Las Vegas heat, he beats the living piss out of this car over and over and over again. I can personally vouch for breaking the tires loose on the highway in 4th gear while in well over 100 degree weather. He leaves it running in the paring lot for 30 minutes and then proceeds to go rip through all the gears for multiple test-rides without cooldown time.

This exact motor has been through hell and back. It has been running for multiple years, through multiple different setups. From uberdata all the way to NepTune, from 300whp with a greddy kit all the way to 441whp on 100-octane pump gas. From Colorado to Nevada, this thing keeps on ticking with perfect compression to this day. This is the ultimate streetcar IMO. Pretty much the only thing that has not changed with this car is the motor lol.

Basically, Andy's block will be more stout than this one, and its been though hell and back and its still kickin hard.

I plan on building my block in the future, how many miles is too many to the point where it would be wise to start with a newer one.

Depends on the condition and how it runs, bro. The only reason I rebuilt is for stronger internals....not because it needed it.

It is Friday night, I just put my little one to bed. I don't need to babysit any of you guys too.

Why can't you guys just respect each others car and work and leave it at that. Anymore name calling and bashing and both of your threads will be gone.
