damn.. talk about overly priced for everything.. locally i can get a k20a2 complete for 3500 with subframe... $1000 for kpro... cybernation for $5000.. also why get TYPE R disc brakes when the TYPE S is the same thing... locally i can get that for about 500+.. hasport mounts probably around $600 (thats what i got mines for).. so in parts alone that adds to about $10,600.. so lets just round it up to $11000 give or take a few hundred... so in general you are paying the $4000 or more dollars on just labor... man whoever those guys are are gonne be $4000 richer.. lol To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Well the thing is with the vette is the insurance im only 19 and the insurance lady told me that if the cars in my name then i would have to have the insurance in my name as well, the insurance quote i got was $1950 every 6 months thats with no tickets....plus ive had my civic since i was 16 and ive preached k20 for as long as i can remember, but if i sink that much money in my vic then i want to make sure its not goin to be a waste..does anyone know how much hp i would be packin by any chance?

p.s. i do love evos and m3s but the vette just caught my eye recently

vette hands down, all things the same.

but they aren't. you have so many better things to save/spend that $ on. that is a whale of insurance to deal with. get something cheap and fast, get liability, and have a blast.

like i said earlier... you can still save money now on the swap by going somplace cheaper... ur getting raped on those prices.. but u have to think long term here...u spend $10,000 now on the swap... u still pay the same amount for your yearly registration and the same for your monthly insurance... and you still get a decent gas mileage if you dont punch it alot..

on the other hand.. even if you use the money to put a down for a vette... look at how much ur monthly payments might be compared to the civic.. on top of that your yearly car registraion is way more than.. i pay $190 to register my car every year yet my friend who owns a mustang paid $498 for his.. i dont know how much the vette is but i know its way more than any civic.. plus imagine how much your insurance rate will jack up.. think long term to get a bigger picture of what you are getting urself into

Do you like good gas mileage and import reliability, or a cheap but very fast car?

go with the k20a2 swap turbo! No ones gonna care if they get smoked by a vette, on the other hand, imagine the look on a sti owner that just got smoked by a little civic! plus better gas milage, and more seats! But like ^ said, $15000 is a little too much.

Yea i know that the swap is more expensive but the place is close to where i live and the person who installs everything offers a 30,000 mile warranty on all the installed parts, and yes i would love to see the face of the sti owner who just got blew away by a lil civ....nothing would make me happier, my friend has an sti and i told him that if i did the swap i would put I8URSTI on my license plate.....needless to say he wasnt too happy,LOL

Bottom line would a civ like i intend to build turn your heads?

P.S.-but for A4turboss im currently a commercial diver through cal-dive in houston and they pay really good around 3800 every 2 weeks (after taxes)
