How to run charge piping on Dezod Turbo kit?...closed
Doing a mock up of my dezod turbo kit on my '03 LX. Having some trouble running the charge pipe from the turbo to the intercooler. It's a real tight fit, doesn't seem like it will be able to connect to the compressor outlet. Maybe I just have to force it in there harder...
BTW I have an auto, so the ATF cooler lines and pressure solenoids are right down there too along w/ the front engine/tranny mount.
Any1 w/ this kit have pics of how your charge piping is run?

i dont have a dezod kit, but i have a similar layout for that particular charge pipe. What exactly about it is giving you a hard time? Is it too big? too long? too many things in the way? pics? mine went in, but not without a good fight.

Wasn't sure what the best route was. Assuming I should run it to the rear of the lower radiator hose, in front of the atf cooler lines, in front of the engine mount.
Don't have my car right now (it's at bodyshop)...it got hit while it was parked, but when I get it back I'll have to take some pics.

cool someone who lives in LI sorry cant help you but just amazed someone who is somewhat local is installing a Turbo
Off topic, u know of any good tuners around here. Was looking at RPM nyc and NRG Tech. Can't wait til this thing is up and running
you have it right my tsi kit had almost the same fitment its a tight fit just take time and get those pipes on first or maybe adjust the intercooler a little

nice you live in LI? me and a couple of members from this site are cruising to NJ on june 4th for a car meet, wanna tag along???
Yeah, I'm on LI (Huntington). Sounds cool, but I have to work on the 4th
Will give the charge piping another try and snap some pics. Also, do the pipes coming out of the compressor go to the top or bottom opening of the intercooler?
Ok, did another mockup of the pipes. Didn't have much time to work w/ it, but I think I was connecting some of the pipes incorrectly . Took some pics of the piping layout. I think I understand the way they're supposed to go now. Maybe I'm just a dumazz but I really wish this kit came w/ some instructions.
Here are some pics from the mockup. I had to notch the upper radiator support and trim the fan shroud to fit the manifold/turbo/downpipe unit in. I think I will have to trim some more spots on the fan shrould for clearance.
I tried routing the compressor outlet pipe in front of the lower radiator hose, but it kept getting stuck. I'll have to route it to the rear of the hose again to see which works better.
Also, my stock exhaust (LX) can't bolt up to the downpipe (flange is further to the passenger side than stock)...thought it was supposed to be able to. I hope Dezod's downpipe extension I ordered will work with the greddy evo 2 catback I have.
^^
Just make sure you have enough clearance for the turbo between fan and between bumer support. I think you are a little close now.
When running engine moves front and back a little, so your tubo may start hitting something close to it or you can be getting some nasty vibrations.
