My K20A2 CIvic is officially TOTALLED. THe worst part is that i was only able to enyoy it for 5 minutes- LITERALLY.
THis is what happened. I have had the swap done but was working out a kink in the electronics which was making it run like crap. Well, my ECT sensor was bad. So i finally got a chance to replace it Tuesday night and took it out for a ride.
Before the ect sensor was replaced, it was idling at 1500 and kinda ran like crap.
Ill tell ya, when i did get it replaced and it was normal, it was a totally different car, teh car PULLED HARD!!
Unfortunately i was in a big parking lot at night (right after fixing it- i was excited) and i wanted to test it a bit. I shifted into first....then second....ALL OF THE SUDDEN a curb ( which wasnt lit up that well) out of nowhere was right in front of me!!! I dont remember anything after that but from the tire marks, it seems i did dodge the curb but as a result of that i fish tailed right into a light post with a concrete base. I was hit in teh drivers door and the impact penetrated about a foot into my door.
All i can say is that im lucky to be alive. I just got out of the hospital this morning. My lower back is KILLING and i have headaches. They said i should recover fine though.

IM really PISSED!!! Thank god im okay. I feel much better today but the side of my back is still killing me. I can barely get up and sit down.
I guess my car was cursed from day one. It has been through a lot. Previous baby accidents: i bent my wheel and control arm on two seperate occasions e-braking into curbs (front driver adn rear pass. - reason i got rear disc setup), a lady backed into my fender before (hence my slr fenders), my hood flew up and smashed my windshield and roof (just recently) and now THIS.
I you guys knew me personally, you would know i REALLY loved my car. BUt life goes on i guess and we should move on.
Now im worried about is getting my car back to get all my shit off of it and return it back to stock. The K20 is worth a couple grand and all the accessories and body kit are worth prolly another grand or two.
Now the question is, what do i get next?
I want you guys to keep asking K20 DIY questions because i will continue to post replies.
BTW: of what i remember in the 5 minutes of glory that i had with my fully functional K20 em2 is that is was SICK!!!!
Sorry for your car man, I'm fine your okay... this was my nightmare...
Yeah, fuel pump was from the rsx. If not, at high rpm you could do some damage i think. High rpm=a lot of fuel and air. If you dont have fuel to mix with the air then .
I did a fuel press test friday afternoon... I had the half of press a civic need...so this is the quater than a RSX need. So I'll change my fuel pump tuesday. I'll keep you inform.
aw that sux. yea, you should keep the vic and replace everything, or go buy a new civic and put the motor in there right from day one, get a 5-speed too.
why dont you just keep the vic and fix all the damage??
The car is too damaged to fix. THe pole made impact right in my door and f'ed everything up. The only positive thing is that the engine bay was untouched.
You need to access this from under the drivers dash fuse box. Loosen the 10 mm screw at the bottom of the fuse box and drop it down a bit. This will give you a little better leverage on the wiring. THen near the top of the fuse box, pull out the connector.
Pin #7 is for the clutch pedal. IT will let you stanrt the canr when pnressing the clutch pedal. Wire pin 7 to the upper 2-pin clip on the clutch pedal and then go from the pedal to ground. It doesnt matter which pin is which on the cluthc pedal 2-pin clip. IT just closes the circuit to ground.
PIn #10 is for the neutral safety switch. THis will let the car think its in park so you can stant the car. SImply run a wire from pin 10 to ground.
Hey man what happend to the engine, did you sell it??
All major components have been sold off. Engine was just shipped out last week (3K).
Im planning to get a 2000 s4. Has all the options ive ever wanted. 2.7 Twin-turbo, 6 speed, Quattro AWD, Moonroof, sounds, heated-powered-leather seats,
Wow first time I read a full 8 pages thread. Sorry for you car man but at least your okay and still into cars. When I had gone into an accident I just wanted to send my car to the scrap. promps
