which would be better for our d17 application in your opinion? i mean do they both start to spool and get full boost at the same rpms? or do they equally put out as much hp...yada yada...lookin for an answer from dezod

T3 Super 60 would be the better choice.

Are you looking at at T3/T04E or T04B? A T04E is too big for a stock motored application.

I say the T3 super 60 spools a little faster than the T3/T04. The T3 is what my turbo guy recommended for my car. He says it will spool between 3,200-3,400 but you knows there are so many opinions on this subject. Good luck with your turbo project.

depends what you plan to do with the motor and how much power you want to achieve.

The T3/T04E is geared more toward a built motor and higher boost application.

The T3 Super 60 is geared toward stock bottom end and daily driving.

well, i really dont plan on building the engine and just probably plan to run the tial 38mm wastegate at .4 bar which would be like...5.5-6psi? something more on the safe side for the unbuilt engine

so if i just want to run the .4 bar i wont need the greddy electronic boost controller rite?
and even though i want to run emanage...would i still need the synapse missign link?

so ill prob go with the garret t3 super 60

Stock bottom end, low boost....T3 all the way

The boost controller will keep the WG closed as long as possible and increase boost response. Not necessary, but a nice luxury.
FYI-on this note, the WG starts to creep open a few PSI prior to the spring max....so this creates a chase your tail scenario w/o a boost controller.

No you won't need the ML if you use the E-Manage because with the E-Manage, you have the option of using the voltage clamp, which is like the ML.

Ok...

Scenario: TiAL 38MM w/ a 6 PSI spring
No EBC

Turbo builds boost...at about 3 PSI it creeps open...4 PSI a little more...5 PSI even more.....6 PSI fully open.........The turbo is trying to build more boost quickly, but the WG can not stay shut....therefore, you want better boost response so you change the spring in the WG........same scenario with say an 8 PSI spring.....begins to open at 4 PSI.....fully by 8.....Chasing your tail.

The boost controller diverts the pressure from the WG to keep it closed as long as possible thus improving boost response because now the WG is staying fully shut to 6 or 8 PSI then flying open.

Hook me up with some rep points if this made sense and helped you.
