Exclamation Everyone that currently has outstanding issues with Stafford Fabrications please post

Mike has told me that all issues are resolved but one. I need to know if that is correct or not. I need you to post here ONLY if you have outstanding issues with them.

Info needed:

Real Name
Date of SF order
What you ordered
Outstanding issue in detail

Thay also want their vendor membership reinstated. I am conducting a poll to see what you guys think about this. It may or may not have an impact on the decision the admins here make.

civic type s, they never perfected the dual stage controller. It would not hold the high setting. If you want, they can give you a refund on that part.

this happened quite a while ago, I don't know if it is important enough to consider, but Mike Stafford had gotten catalyst to work on my car (he was installing a new turbo that didn't smoke), inwhich he ended up breaking off one of the exhaust bolts (and the stud) was literally stuck in the place where it screws into. His near exact words were "just take it to a muffler shop, they can have it out for about ~$100"

I could not believe what I was hearing. Not only that, RIGHT after he worked on my car, it threw a check engine light and my o2 sensor was bad, so he told me to go order another one. More craziness.

I ended up paying $160 total ($100 for exhaust bolt removal, $15 for new exhaust bolt + spring, $45 for new o2 sensor) out of my pocket because of a crappy job.

I don't expect SF to do anything about this, but it still receives a "No" as far as instating their vendor memberships go because of bad customer service.

you forget to mention that it was almost midnight, and we were replacing a part for free, not even charging labor. I am sorry for the bolt. When i worked at a muffler shop i charged a fee of $25 for broken stud removal. Stafford offered to reimburse you for the stud, but you didnt contact us again about that. But the O2 was not even taken out. Since yours is an ex, it is in the stock pipe, which we didnt touch.

Normally when a turbo goes bad, we would make you take the turbo off, send it to us, we would inspect it, then send you a new one and you need to put it on. Since you were close(er) to us, we opted to swap it for free. We didnt keep your car for several days nor did we leave you without a working car for a long period of time. and we were there past midnight. Normally a shop would leave at 5 or 6 and you would have had to wait til the next day.

We did have some miscommunication on both ends. And i did accidentally break off your bolt. But we were there 7 hours after closing time.

actually it was about 7-8pm. I know what time it was because I waited there and I was very pissed about it. I had gotten there maybe around 3-4pm and waited another few hours for you guys to get there and take my turbo off

I DID try to contact you, many many times, however if you don't recall, your pm box was full and Stafford's voice mail was also full

Well, care to explain what happened? I had been running the o2 simulator on the pipe for MONTHS and coincidentally my cel comes on for an "o2 sensor heater malfunction" right after you replaced the turbo?

I paid $300 for you guys to install the turbo kit, so you would actually charge me even more for labor for a faulty turbo?

actually you guys -were- there until almost midnight the FIRST night ... which was the installation, which was a totally different night than when I came back to get the turbo replaced. I was at the shop for a total of 12.5 (14 total if you include the lunch break at that burger place) hours ... 9am to 11pm I was there.

We never touched the O2 sensor. We never dropped the exhaust.

And yes, normal shops would charge to replace a faulty part. Look at XS engineering. When their part caused a massive fault in a customers car, they would not even warantee the part. So the customer had to pay in excess of $800 to replace that part and the turbo (which the faulty part destroyed).

Feb Group Buy (TrueHonda)
Full SF kit with upgraded turbo, equal length manifold, powder coated pipes in rallye red
The kit that was sent to me several months ago had parts missing, the turbo had metal shavings falling out of the turbine, the FMIC was bent in places that shipping was unable to damage, paint was chipped and pipes were dented. The SF logo on the FMIC was chipping and flaking off on the cardboard that was sent with the kit. The welds on the exhaust manifold and downpipe were horrible at best and had pinholes. I contected Mike at SF and they were MORE than willing to send me another kit. The second kit took a while longer to get due to the request of the new fuel system I requested. It was sent to me free of charge and the second kit i received was 100% better in quality. I vote the vendor license should stay because of thier willingness to repair the problems. My comlplaint is that time it took to take care of the entire transaction and the fact that a BOV wasnt sent with the new kit. THe BOV situation is being taking care of as i write this.

My sf kit has metal shavings through out the whole turbo and charge pipes. They metal shavings were just powered coated over SO now i have to get all the pipes re-powered coated after there cleaned out, another 200 bucks.
