if i wanted to be a "guinea pig" what would that cost me? or are u only looking at local boys?

im sure that the fitament would be the same if not easier for the 5spd cause the auto tranny takes up a lot of room, what would be included in the kit as of now? and what kinda price would i be looking at?

Uh yeah its not - but when you fvck with the MAP signal (such as when you change the injectors), and you run a VAFC or SAFC for turbo you are going to eventually destroy your car. Since the MAP signal is fvcked, the ECU thinks you are still on an NA ignition map, so it fvcks your timing over. This is why these are a bad choice when running boost - you can't account for the timing variance. Henceforth this is known as the VAFC hack - because you are tricking the car to make it work (it has nothing to do with the wires).

ok well that makes more sense but the contraversy was over a (boost sensative fpr or a fmu) and a signal converter like a safc or vafc. i realize that piggy-back or standalone are always best choice. but earlier in the thread he was talking about using the safc and vafc for tuning instead of a emanage or another piggyback and called them a fmu. which could be called a fmu since it does control fuel but way different than a true fmu.
ive got another piggyback you guys should look into its called the perfect power computer model smt6.http://www.perfectpower.com/default.asp it can control up to 6 extra sub injectors and 128 map points. and its pretty easy to tune. this is what some of us domestic guys are using on cavi's and s10's.

Last time I checked, these are the only digital FMU's you can really use on our cars without going ape shit and with a stand alone. Furthermore, I did not suggest an S-AFC over E-Manage. I would never say such a thing UNLESS they already have a mechanism that controls ignition timing and S-AFC was strickly used for fuel adjustments.

It's too bad Joe is selling that vic. There's a local shop that's getting a dyno within the next couple of weeks here. I sure wish I had the cash at this moment to be a part of the test seeing Joe and I could work closely together on it. Just sucks that I gotta put every dollar I make towards my wedding next year, otherwise I'd already be boosted by now.

Wedding > Boosted Civ

I envy you, if that makes you feel any better.

Haha...I'm not try'na say it's a bad thing getting married. It's just that I had to put back the plans that I had for this summer. My whole goal last summer to be boosted for this summer, but this just puts things back and I guess it's not big deal.

It's called maturity man. If this weren't my $$ maker, I would not have EVER boosted the Civic.

True true. Good point man. Well I don't want to let this get off topic so we'll continue on with your turbo. I saw the dyno run you posted up after getting the boost controller fixed. Impressive numbers at 5psi on an auto.

Correction-7.5psi

fuel set-up is top secret!!!!!

RSX Type S injectors
E-Manage (optinal upgrade to help control them)

^^Proven works to 8.5 PSI without any fuel pressure adjustments.

im going to switch from vafc rsx-s inj. msd pump, and aeromotive digital fmu. and use that with the emanage. But with the addition of the emanage and injector and ignition harness, will the fmu be used at all or will the emange map just do it's job for it?
