Oil leak from oil return on turbo

alright, i got the rest of my stuff in from SF a couple of days ago and i installed it yesterday afternoon.....i installed the oil return flange that attaches to the bottom of the turbo and i even had a gasket made for it, but i am still having an oil leak from there.....i know that this is where it is coming from.....what did you guys use on your setup, set as rubber silicone or what, to keep from having an oil leak.....it is a little one, but yet it is aggrivating and is messin up my concrete driveway..... Are you sure its not the center section of the turbo itself (ala the oil seals rather than the oil return)?

If your oil seals are bad, than the turbo will have to be rebuilt (ie, taken completely apart) - just to replace them. They are what hold the oil in the bearing section (so it doesn't flow into the compressor and turbine sections). They may be leaking - it happens....Contact SF and see what he says, take some photos if you can.

if the oil seals were bad, you would have quite a bit of smoke coming out the exhast of your car.

Take the flange off, clean both surfaces really well, then use some high-temp silicon to seal it.

What kind of oil are you using? My 5w30 mobil 1 is getting past the seals and building up in the lower IC pipe.

I'm using Honda (Mobil 1) 10w30 oil ... in certain weather, it smokes a bit a couple seconds after I press the gas from an idle...

hm, could it also be that I don't have a cat? ... O_o ... but I guess it wouldn't matter if I had a cat or not, because that crap never came out when I was n/a ... -_-;

azn, i talked to your friend at the meet. I told him what you needed to do, and i am going to send you the part.

Email me with your address and ill send it to you asap. It literally takes less than 5 mins to install. And i had the same problem, and this fixed it.
