"Theres on one thing I'm worried about. I dont want the car to slip or F up when I turbo it. The point of this thread is to see who has what and how their auto holds up while boosted, under cruising throttle and wide open."

i'm about to buy a turbo, i'm gonna try different psi's till the tranny explodes, i'll let you know. lol.. j/k.. well, most likely i will. i know how i am, "hell, if it can do 6psi, it can do 7.. it can do 7, so it's gotta hold up at 8" etc. lol. if it does, oh well, just buy new shit.. no biggie. i'll try upgrading the tranny though. any #'s yet 18sec? or any word on the WRX race?
Originally posted by leonhsieh auto tranny won't hold up. I even put the transmission cooler on, and it still slips. It will become worse and worse with time.
what PSI are you running? this should be news to everyone...
is anyone else here having problems with their transmission?
i was running 4 psi without tranny cooler first, and it already slip. AFter bring it up to 7psi, i put the tranny cooler and i thougth slip will be gone, but it's still there. Later, i started to feel tranny is getting worse and worse
i've been running 5-6 psi for umm...8 or 9 months or so and my transmission is holding up fine...i dont notice anything getting worse as far as slippage concerns

Auto tranny's slip into gears anyway. My tranny slips when I am going slow, because it is more noticable. When I am bookin, it grabs. My problems come from a/f ratio.....I think I need new plugs.
im going to be joining the turbo family soon and here are my plans for the tranny so it can hold up: torque converter, tranny cooler, overhaul kit, and an EBC. what do u guys think about that? is it too much, perfect... what? also, with all that how much could i boost? and if any1 knos where i can get these products for a god price lemme kno. thx

it it very difficult cuz, an auto tranny is very complex, and every thing has to be installed very carefully and in the right order and place, if you don't you've just fugged up your transmission
Actually the main internals of the tranny ( clutch packs) arent that dificult, the key is getting the proper clutch pack clearances, and a clean assembley, they pretty much can only go back to gether one way . Now the valve body is another story. I've never rebuilt a honda auto trans , but have done many others so i guess maybe it takes a few to become comfortable doing them.
