not yet, still sitting in my room, lol. since its a estimated $400 install, i'm gonna have to wait to see how much my turbo install is gonna be first, it might be a week or two after my turbo is in until i get it installed. and i still need a donor torque converter, they are impossible to find! i really want a upgraded torque converter put in before a overhaul kit just because i think a TC would more of a difference.

try car-parts.com search for 2001+ parts, that all you'll find, but i awsked magestic honda and they said tha 2001 ex and lx, and 2002 ex and lx use the same torque converter.....
y don't know about the rest of those years, ther's one for 30 buck i thnk...
hey i know a guy with an 2001 lx turbo automatic and he can run 0-60 in like 5 secs, thats about equivalent to running the 8th mile in 9 sec and the quarter in 14 flat. i can tell him to be a member of this site so he can show us all. thats all stock internals and no tranny cooler as he says
i was just wondering, cuz i wanted to but the TCI tranny overhaul kit, and emailed TCI about it and they saind that i wiould no improve shifts only make the tranny hold more power, and the Level 10 kit (90+ dollars more than TCI), is saind to also improve shiffting, but they seem to ofer the same parts, what could be the Diff??
"In short, this Red Eagle clutch/Kolene steel combination will shorten clutch lock-up time, reduce heat due to slip, increase fatigue resistance, bolstering your transmission against the increased torque of your modified Honda power plant."
i dont think it is really supposed to improve shifts a great deal, its more meant to be a rebuild so it can handle more power. a torque converter is what you want if you want better shifts. a overhaul kit just takes the weak pieces of your AT and makes them stronger.

^^^bump for this question.
since my car is my one and only daily driver i'm setting the daily boost at 6psi, ok maybe 7psi . what kinda cars would we be able to beat at that setting? when i break in my kit i'm going to race my friends WRX and for that i might set it at 9psi. we will be doing it from a roll, what do you think the outcome will be?
where did you get the quote?? whats the average price you think it should cost??

a local shop gave me that quote, i asked another shop to compare prices and they didnt even know what a overhaul kit was so there was no way i was going there, lol.
is it difficult to install an overhaul kit? or torque converter?
i was thinking about doing this one with a bunch of car friends, but I'm not sure how hard it is to remove the oem parts and replace them. I'd certainly like to learn though
it it very difficult cuz, an auto tranny is very complex, and every thing has to be installed very carefully and in the right order and place, if you don't you've just fugged up your transmission
yea, ive worked with my uncle at his shop over the summer. i witnessed some tranny rebuilds, and there are a ton of different metal rings and stuff in the tranny, i have no idea how he knows which ones go in which order.
