im running a 75 shot on my bone stock 05 value package its running great
i was told at the drag strip when i was filling my tank that i diddnt need to retard my timing because new cars have a program that detects detonation and will retard the timing if so can anyone confirm this
Hey,
My buddy has got an 01 Civic LX and we're trying to install a NOS 50 shot Wet kit on it. How do we tap into his fuel system? What have all you guys done? I've seen some guys using an inline fuel pump, why? How do you run that? Others tapped into the fuel line in the engine bay, is this okay or will the fuel pressure blow the clamps off the tee? By tapping into this fuel line, once he starts spraying will it cause his engine to lean out cuz the fuel solinoid is 'stealing' some fuel? Also what's the highest shot you guys have run with the crappy stock plastic intake manifold? Does running a 75 shot cause it to crack? He's starting with a 50 shot, but I know he'll want to move to a higher shot. Please any help is appreciated.
Base kits are around $500 but don't come with a bottle heater and purge. I would highly recommend getting a bottle heater if you want the most out of your kit.
Takes about a full day to install or a weekend if you take your time.

This one comes with a video on how to install if there are guys out there that want a kit but are unsure on how to put it in. Sorry for the ** but I cant post direct links since I havent ever posted, just read.
hey i read this whole thread and i had a few ?s just wanted to be confirmed. i have a 01 dx manual. i understand all i need is the kit, gauges, and new plugs. i was looking at something like a 55 shot or so or maybe even 75 if its safe.
so when i spray it lets say in 2nd at wot of course, and i shift and go to third does it keep going or do i press it again or what?
where is the basic/ common place to put your switches?
can i get another example of a race using nitrous?
would it matter if its real cold or real hot?
also im seeing not to many people using 75 shots, anyone here that uses one that can tell me if its safe or not on a stock motor? if its unsafe i might go for a 55 or 65 possibly??
any recommondations would be appreciated. sorry for the questions but just wanna make sure i know whats going on and sheeet. thanks

1.) You will have a WOT switch, so when its armed, it will come on everytime you go to WOT regardless of whether you let off the gas when you shift.
2.) Most people put it in the coin tray in the center console by the shifter. I personally put mine on the panel where the cigarette lighter is.
3.) Not really sure what you are talking about race wise
4.) I'm assuming you're talking about temperature. I'm pretty sure they are tuned from the nitrous company to run a little rich as a safety caution but, colder weather = more power.
5.) I ran a 75 shot for over a year with no problems. Just have to watch the bottle pressure very carefully (Never go over 950 psi). Too much pressure, and you'll blow a headgasket. I personally ran a 14.1 @ 99 mph and I felt that was a bit of a conservative run. Definately could have ran 13's with a good launch.

so its whenever you flip the switch and stomp it it will automattically spray? if thats correct dont worry about the race question. i was also reading that warmer weather cause the n20 to expand and make more power, are you sure on that one? do you have any clutch problems like slipping or anything like that? also i read that if i go for a 75 shot then it would release gases in my trunk and i need something for that do you got it? and how would i control it from going over 950psi? just want to get all the facts straight first. thanks. rep for you

Yeah, when the system is armed, and you stomp on it, it will spray. Remember to only floor it when your above 3000 rpms or you might have a nitrous backfire.
I know when nitrous is heated, the pressure rises (thats what bottle heaters are for) but I'm not sure how that pertains to hot air going into the engine affecting the nitrous.
I didnt' have any clutch problems, but I had bought one in case of ever needing it which i sold.
You need to buy a bottle heater and pressure gauge (if it doesn't come wiht your kit) and that way you can control and monitor the pressure. If you need more pressure turn the heater on, if you need less, turn the heater off and wait. I've had mine go to 1000 psi and just had to wait for it to go down until my next race.
You will want to buy a blow-down tube as a safety precaution if you leave your heater on and the pressure goes to 3000 psi or whatever so you don't blow up your trunk or having nitrous shoot all over your trunk.

well i might be movin to florida in dec after christmas so its hot there. would i still need the warmer for it if it gets hot as balls or is it something that i still need even when its hot outside? so what does the blow down tube actually do, does it go to the outside of the car or what? how long does it take to cool down and will it cool down even in very hot weather?
