Stock 05 civic , got a few questions to be answered

I have 05 civic sedan 5 speed but I'm pretty sure I blew my transmission how could I tell the different a from engine blown or transmission. It doesn't turn over or go into gear I suspected my clutch since it won't stop rolling in any gear and I was curious if I could swap that engine out and put something bigger into it like a vtec engine, or and ideal engine idk what that would be I suppose the main quiestion is , what kind of engine and transmission could I swap for my 05 stock I'm not sure but I think it's a 1.7

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Manual trans....

Put in gear, let out clutch pedal. Does speedometer needle rise like it's showing a speed?

Before this point where it won't move on its own anymore, was it having a difficult time accelerating? RPM goes up but it doesn't accelerate any faster?

Does the clutch pedal feel high and hard?

Is this your first car with a clutch? How long have you had it?

Yeah this is my first car with a clutch. And before it ****ed up I'd only have to press down about a inch or so before I could feel it and if my clutch is Gone I shouldn't beable to start it right ? Cause it won't start , I was also thinking of just doing a swap but idk with what

Re: Stock 05 civic , got a few questions to be answered

Clutch worn out......

that won't cause it to not start, the engine should be unaffected and still run normally.

Multiple issues?

Does the starter crank when you twist the key?

Re: Stock 05 civic , got a few questions to be answered

You mean the starter will crank the engine but the engine won't run on its own?

The rest of your posts described a worn out clutch. Should be a basic R&R to fix that, but I think you need to figure out why the engine won't run first.
