hello all,
just picked up an 05 LX special edition project. its a 1.7 V-tec
the person that I bought it from overheated the engine and the head is sitting in the trunk for 10 + months now ....
questions are;
should I get the engine and head chequed out. and putting it back together
or
swap out the engine and put in a replacement engine ( maybe a 2.0 V-tec )
looking forward to your insight and opinion(s) ....

I would just swap in a new 1.7 if you can find a low mileage one for a good price.
Depending on how much you want to spend you could drop in a 2.0.

well, an update on the progress ... I have located an engine ( has 89k on it ), quarter glass, windshield trim, and a driver side door motor ( talk about a pain on the glass and the trim ) ....
looking to replace the water pump, belt, tensioner, oil pump ( its a bit easy to get to at when the engine is out ), and rear mail seal ....
due to me filing for taxes this year, I ll have to wait a bit because I am having to paying back some serious $$$ to the uncle sam fellow ... =0/
at least I have taken some photo(s) tho of the vehicle at when I was at the shop and replaced the glass too ...
