Rep Power: 0 JDM Base K20?
Okay.... This might be a repost but I couln't find any info on this. So what's the deal with the JDM base model K20. The one with the black intake manifold. Is this the basically the same K thats found in the stateside type s? Or is this one of the sorry VTEC (almost non- vtec) found in the ep3?

The one with the black intake manifold was the ones from the American Base RSX (160hp) and the Silver ones are the engines for the Type S. At least thats what. So to answer your ? its the one also in the EP3 i believe

He said JDM guys...if you mean the DC5 ITR motor, it's the k20a with has 220 hp. The USDM RSX-S has the k20a2 with 200, and the ep3 and base RSX have the k20a3 with 160hp

Ok... You're all wrong. There was a 2005 "Base" JDM Integra. They began offering a Type S and a Type R. The Type S had the same HP rating as our USDM Type S basically, but in Japan they rate cars by PS not HP. In Australia (where the article below comes from) they rate cars by kW. It came out as 154kW, or 206HP.
Anyway, I'm not sure of the engine code, but that's the JDM Integra Type S. Then there was the Type R which we're all familiar with and it has the K20A and 220PS.

Here. Chew on that for awhile.

Guys regardless of JDM or not "The one with the black intake manifold" is the base rsx here in the states, and its also the EP3 here in the states. rated at only 160 ponies.

he's right. there was a thread about it awhile back. In japan all the k's are called k20a and only the type R was 220hp. The type S was 160hp.
thats why if you got a k20a motor from japan you had to double check the stamp on the head and make sure its a 6speed tranny in order for you confirm you have the one thats 220hp.
The japanese type S had 160hp but the lobes in the head were slightly different then the ones from the k20a3, so it wasn't a exact double of the k20a3.
