how do i update my wmp?

i dont think all me codecs are updated. or whatever it is that allows me to play any file.

there is no option on it to update.

could be a corrupt file, or u dont have the correct codecs to play it. 9 times outta 10 if you are playing a video and u get an error its a codec error. Make sure u are up to date on your Divx codec as it the most widely used video compressor/codec out there. try redownloading the file or playing it with real player or quicktime to see if the file is corrupt.

i think its the codec because other files play on it.

depends what codec it is.... and being able to play other files doesnt mean its the codec. if u can play a bunch of divx encoded files then suddenly 1 doesnt work, its not the codec, its a corrupt file. WMP will automatically search for needed codecs if its a codec issue, if it cant play at all and doesnt even attempt to locate the proper codec, u can probably bet its a corrupt file. just re-download it and see what happens.
