As some of you may know, I am building a system similar to Ducatti's Shuttle pc. The processor I am getting is a 2.4ghz P4. I'm sure "NoFriends" will be able to answer this..........how exactly do I go about overclocking my new PC? How is it done? What precautions do I need to take?
Please give me as much info as possible.

It depends on the mianboard, it is either in the bios or using the special utility software that comes with the mainboard (i.e MSI boards have the capability to do it in windows)
Yeah, it can be done either by jumper settings, BIOS setup, or within Windows....
Some precautions...LOTS OF VENTALATION! If you over heat too much or too quickly you fry your processor and mobo. Thats why I would say go with water cooling if done right you are garanteed constand cooling and with a little maintenance on your system overy so often you can have a puter that cranks out almost 3ghz and running as long as it normally would anyhow.
Then again 2.4 ghz prcessor is pretty fast in the first place. Just make sure your mobo has 533 frontside bus otherwise your wasting your money.
don't forget this will also increase the clock speed on your agp video card, and i believe it also increases the speed of your pci bus. your video card may bork out if it can't handle the extra speed, or heat! you can't increase the multiplier on the intel chips, so you have to increase bus speed, hence the reason the rest of the systems speeds are increased, and the danger rises. IMO, it's not worth the few extra frame rates you'll get while gaming.
S2000man01 is right, not worth the risk. P$'s distribute a ton of heat so if you overclock you will need some super cooling system. I am running a 2.4ghz P4 with a ATi Radeon 9700 Pro 128mb Vid card and 1gb of ram. I have not found a game that slows it down yet. If you really want more power they just released the 3.06ghz P4.
Unless you're doing it to say you did it (like OCing to 4 Ghz), then there's no real point. You are going to get more frames than you know what to do with already.
to over it simple hit delete when u first boot up your computer. then go to voltage setting section. n just increase the front side bus frequency. and save. tada.

I think we've established that increasing FSB will overclock, however, we are trying to tell him not to, as it's simply not worth it at this point.
True...true...it is simply not worth clocking ANYTHING. I clocked my GeForce and now I need to get a new one. muahahahaah DOH!!! Don't take the risk...
