Some of my work with photoshop....Constructive critisism welcome

Back in high school I used ti all the time. LAtely I've been bored at work and am hoping to get good again, but here's what I've made so far for sh*ts and giggles. Not the greatest but hey passes the time. Lemme know what you think.

Linky!

I've got more but I need to get my buddy to upload it to the site.

If you have any suggestions or anything I am willing to listen. I don't expect to be the greatest at it.

well some advice from a 8 year veteran of Photoshop.

when saving for the web use JPG not BMP. BMP is way to big a file.

Also use your filters in a way that they don't look like a filter. A good example is my lil trick with, after rasterizing text, place a plaster filter on it until you get an effect of decay then lower the opacity to about 45% and skew it if wanted. Then place the text layer as original over it with no effects for a readability factor. Example is at: http://www.underwaterdesign.com/graphD2.htm

This is a movie poster i did for psycho. It never got published it was a class project.

NO lense Flairs

Do not be afraid of feathering selections to creat your own drop shadows. However recent Versions of photoshop have gotten better at it. And finally the more layers the better.

The last one was the cleanest. the second, you sig... can't be copywritted without permission from the owners of the cars. and the first is to blurry. be careful with the drop shadow.

If you ever have any questions on how to do something in Photoshop or Illustratore. just ask.

Thanks for the input. I actually did save them as jpg, but my buddy who uploaded them saved as bmp for some reason.

I'll edit the Copy right, it was actually kinda a joke but no sense in getting a mean letter in the mail if someone decides they wanna be rude.

I've been using a lot of online tutorials, any that you can offer up that can help my techniques out a bit?

I go to teamphotoshop.com a lot and find links there.

edit: Yeah not a big fan of lense flares...only on cgi movies do they look good.

Yeah... I didn't really like those entirely at all... remember this "creative simplicity" the best design work is simple, and clean cut and pleasant. The best example of clean cut designs/simple is www.templatemonster.com 's designs..

I did however like this macro picture

No offense to the guy above, but if your an 8 year veteran, I saw your site.. hrmm yo can do better than that...
