Im thinking about getting the Network adaptor and was wondering, is the thing worth the money? I've played Socom Navy Seals (BTW the game kicks) But I havn't played it online. Is playing online any better then offline???
BTW does anyone know how much the network adaptor costs?
Oh ya and one more thing. When you play online does the games ever lag really bad?

The adapter costs between $40-50, I think. My girl bought mine for me, and I have yet to hook it up. Sorry I didn't answer all your questions. I also have SOCOM and am looking forward to playing online. I'm sure its better teaming up with others, makes it more of a challenge. IMO

I have had it for about 4 months now (to play Tony Hawk 4) and I haven't used it for about two
Anywayz, it was well worth it for sure...I was addicted to Tony Hawk 4 for ever!!! I can't wait to play Auto Modellista and Midnight Club 2!!!
My adapter also came with a free mail-in certificate to get Twisted Metal Online for free, which i got last month in the mail...still haven't played it yet.
I have only used it with cable modem and there was almost no lag, but 56k shouldn't be so bad...but some games are broadband only. I used to play Dreamcast with 56K, and that was cool for sure ( Alien Front Online was cool!!!).

They cost $39.99 brand new (sony brand). Socom online definitely kicks the single player game's ass. I haven't played the single player since I got online (2 months ago). I realized that I will never beat another game if its online, because online is so much better. I've played Socom, Madden 2003, THPS4, and Twisted Metal Black: Online (free game w/purchase). All are fun as hell...I've only played THPS4 and TMB:O a couple times a piece, not that great. But its worth it just for Socom and Madden to me. I've had a few games lag, some even boot me off, but its few and far between. I also have cable.
I would recommend not purchasing it until you see some major title you actually want, and at that point go for it. I have yet to see a game which is really worth the additional 50 bucks for the adapter. And to tell you the thruth, a game of Counter-Strike will beat SOCOM any day of the week.
Oh, and also, if you don't have high-speed internet, there is absolutley no point in getting a modem for it. Lag is very minimal but again, it is a hefty investment for a market in which I still see very little promise. Stick with your computer for online gaming for now.
