how many of you have a modded xbox.
i was wondering if you are still able to log on to xbox live with the chip.
i have the xecuter modchip and i cant log on to xbl. i dunno if it is because of the chip or not.

Yes I talked to the place that I got my chip from and they said no u can't use XBOX live and the only way it will work is with orginal games and not backup's.
Yes you can still play xbox live with a modded xbox, but you have to disable the modchip first, and so far it only works with originals. http://forums.xbox-scene.com/
some chips allow you to still log onto live, but live seems to have a way of detecing chips anyways
my xbox was modded, and my chip had a "disable" function. so i used to be able to disable the chip and play live. well one fine day i tried to sign into live and it said "it appears that your xbox software or hardware has been modified. live is unavailable"
later that day i went and bought a new xbox...id rather have live then free games. i make a decent living...usually once every couple a months a game comes along that i acutally want to buy. i can afford 70$ every couple of months, and the bi-weekly rental fees or whatever. i love live
