OK, so I have my TOshiba satellite P25 and it takes PC2100 SODIMM memory, which is by todays standards pretty slow. Anyways, I read on another forum that this guy used PC2700 memory with ALL the same specs such as latency, voltage, Non-ECC, and unbufferred. He ran tests and concluded that everything is fine and is running at PC2700 (i think thats 333Mhz).
I just wanted to see if anyone else has tried this either on a laptop or desktop and what were the results? Thanks
Plus....whats stupid (and I know why) is that PC2700 memory is cheaper than the PC2100....grrrr

i think that if you put in pc2700 into a slot that is supposed to take pc2100, it will only run max at pc2100 speed. this is just instictual, however, i do believe that pc2700 will run in your laptop with a speed of at least pc2100.

buy the cheapest ddr you can... all ddr1 works on all ddr1 platforms, it will just downclock (or be limited to the speed of the ram if it slow ram on a platform that supports 400)
