Is there any way to capture/save videos that you can find on youtube?

i think it is all flash... so use this + ie.
*note i never used this before.

I have that plug-in and I use it all the time. Soooo convenient!

However, in this case, it doesn't work.

I've tried examining the source coding of the page, to see what I can do, as a hack, but I've not yet spent enough time studying it.

Another challenge is that YouTube keeps changing the coding of their pages, so the same method will not work all the time.

I was able to download it, but I can't play it. The file has no associations. ugh

You cannot natively play flash files. You need a player.

Perhaps the most versatile free player ever is called "SUPER". It plays just about anything. I strongly recommend it. It is free, and has no ads, or adware, or other malware.

Be sure you only download it from there, because there are versions out there which have viruses and are crippled. Don't be afraid of the interface looking too complex for you.

^^IE and Firefox will play Flash files. I'm not sure if Macromedia offered a stand alone player after 7.

keepvid.com pulls the file off as a .flv file, and IE will not open it. And Macromedia does not offer a standalone player.

There is no need for a file association with these YouTube files, when you use the SUPER player. You just drag and drop the file you get from keepvid onto the player and it plays it.

It's simple enough.

vlc will play .flv and it is a fantastic all around player for anything video...

if u want camtasia studio, let me kno and ill hook u up with a link. It record your whole computer screen or just a section of it. As well as adding sound and editing. Plus theres a snag it feature where you can snap pictures of an area on the screen or the whole screen. example here..

Picture i took using snag it of my screen. Its crisp too, its just my wallpaper is a sucky resolution.

Try that.....unless ur not using firefox, because its a firefox extension that downloads videos from places like google or youtube.
