it's a dual core mobile chip, so it runs cooler and is more power efficient.
i should have made a note that it runs cooler and is more power efficient because it is a mobile chip, and all mobile chips have this efficiency standard because their home is in a laptop.

Well...Ive been looking into buying/building a desktop and Ive been doing some research on processors coming out. Dual Core is very nice and its suppose to let people who multitask a lot not become bogged down by any program running. Baiscally u can burn a DVD and run a full system anti virus scan in the background without any slow down or anything. If u plan on buying a computer soon...I would wait coz of some major things coming out soon.
1) Windows Vista is coming
2) For you gamers, including me, DirectX 10
3) Quad-Core technology in 2007
Intel is suppose to be gaining some lost ground in terms of speed from AMD with its Conroe processor coming out soon, but Im sure AMD will surpass them with a new processor

If you mean soon as in a year form now then yes. Most people looking at computers want them before 1 year from now though. Vista just got pushed back till 2007.

you can always upgrade your video card because directx 10 wont be out for up to another year... also the conroe will be lga 775 but requires a certain chipset that i forget... 945x maybe?

Yeah I think BILL GATES just mentioned it this weekend, as I hear. They postponed it a year I am pretty sure.....
