Question Help with i+tunes...

Hey ya'll I just bought a Motorola SLVR phone yesterday night. Most of ya'll know that this phone has the i+tunes capability. Well I have never owned a Apple i-pod before so I don't know to much about their format of files. But I have tons of mp3 files on my computer.

So Question is how do I convert mp3 files to the i+tunes files??? <--- I think it is called AAC files. I dunno. What programs do I need do download and where do I find them? I did do a search but it’s all i+tunes converted to mp3 files. So please help!

In iTunes, you can go into the preferences and under the Advanced tab there should be an Importing tab. In that window you can choose which format you want iTunes to convert music to when its imported, pick AAC and choose your desired bitrate. Then just import your MP3's into iTunes (File --> Add to Library) and iTunes will convert them to AAC.

The AAC encoder actually outputs the file with extension .m4a Don't let that throw you off. I didnt want to mess with it so I burned all of my songs to a music disk and thyen ripped them with the aac encoder. Remember, less quality (you cant really tell on phone speakers) and you can fit more songs because they are smaller!

I am sorry if I did it wrong but all I did was click the smiley face in the corner and put approve. Is there something I missed?

I am wondering the same thing about my rep from others. All are gray with good comments and the last rep I got was green. I don't understand that. If you understand it please help. Thanks.

i don't even think you have to do the conversion. you could just send your mp3s straight to your phone. however, the AAC files are probably smaller than MP3 files.

Your phone should work with iTunes, and you don't need to convert to AAC format. With the phone you should have received an iTunes CD which has iTunes and the iPod software needed to get it to work, if you haven't already done so insert the CD and at least install the iPod software and it should work wihtout a problem.
