..to buy Battlefield 2. give me some reasons why playing this game might be fun to me. oh, one question. can you fly jets in game?

i play it every so often

Pros
-------
Large, realistic levels
lots of vehicles
each role serves its purpose, there is no all mighty class

Cons
-------
Some bugs that still needs to be worked out (insta-prone)
Not many ranked servers that aren't full
No way to keep track of friends or favorite servers
People can be cheap as hell sometimes

yes you can fly jets, blackhawks, and attack helicopters. it is the sweetest fps game ever made, aside from the bugs. if you can get it to run, you will not really care about the bugs.
i play on trinity servers. people that are cheap on these servers dont last long, they are ranked, and have a good map selection and setup.
bf2 is freakin awesome, but beware, a vehicle can barely tap you and youre dead.

bf2 is just sick. i played it at my friends house, and it's addicting. now im trying to get my self a better video card so i can play it. very addicting and fun

just download it and start playing. then if u really like it go buy it so u can play on all servers.

umm. bf2 can get repetitive and boring with a stupid team, or server full of stupid people. the server I play on turned off friendly fire, unfortunately... but its a good thing too, because we have lots of moron commanders that places artery on own soldiers... and lots of stupid helicopter pilot that cant distinguish between friendlies and foes...

i'll add to a simple pro and con list:

Pro:
*fun squad based battles in large scale battles when you can find a good squad
again, lots of vehicles doing appropriate damages
*nothing feels more cool than landing or taking off from an aircraft carrier.. or storming an enemy aircraft carrier because their silly team is busy spawning there waiting for helicopters and jets

cons:
sniper is toned down big time.. for good reason, but it makes the sniper class a bit worthless.
easily run over by vehicles. u can be barely grazed by one and u'll drop like a weak fly.

BIG PROS:

Those "Battlefield Moments" (all the series has this), here's some I've experienced where its just plain fun:

Blackhawk helicopter piloted by experienced helicopter pilot... loops enemy compound and onboard elite squad shreads enemy armors and infantries on ground, the squad parachutes out, commences more havoc, and takes over flag.

Watching enemy/friendly Apache helicopter being owned by enemy jet missiles, pilot and gunner ejects and parachutes.. only to have their helicopter blown up and land on them.

Hummer fully loaded with personel jumps a ramp, flies through air.. and gets blown up mid-air by rocket propelled grenade, bodies fly.

BF2 is awesome. EA is going to be releasing a patch(1.03) in August so you can have a Favorite servers tab. Not sure about the friends search, but I use a program called XFire to do that. Have you played the BF1942 series? If you have, you will love BF2.

demo is free from ea web site. minimum specs are pretty hefty...

my pc can handle this game easily. i think ill buy it tommorow. another question. can the jets shoot missles or what?

Yeah the Jets can shoot missles. Good luck flying them though and the choppers. Also Ranked servers are better to play on than Un-ranked. I play on a server called FlyGunz. It's a pretty sweet server.

if you get it running good (took me about a week to get it running smoothly, hah) its awesome...

best moment by far is when some cocky asshat in a helicopter flys too low, jump and C4 the bastard, run off and hide before he realizes (he wont) click...BOOM!!
that and the good ol car bomb tactic, load up a car with explosives (apparently noone but me looks at the car before getting in, and by then if you are good enough it shouldnt matter anyway...if they run away, BOOM)...heres where the fun comes in, a few options:
1. leave the car in an obvious place near the enemy spawn and hide and wait for people to get in, BOOM
2. drive it right up to a tank or leaving helicopter full o' people or even a squad on the ground, hop out, MAYBE get far enough away, BOOM
3. another of my personal favorites, a little different, load up an enemy jet with explosives before anyone notices, get somewhere and hide and watch the hilarity ensue as they THINK they got away, BOOM...maybe even wait a lil while to give the poor guy a little more hope and a little less of a clue as to what just happened.

also, id love to put together a video of me in dogfights, i fly like very few will (and live, atleast) my sister was getting nauseous just watching me. ive taken out more people just by them following me than actually shooting them down, lol. its always a good sign when my passenger parachutes out after i skim the ground flying under a bridge into a full loop then a nose dive then a few barrel rolls, flying upside down just for kicks, etc...fun stuff

So if I just have an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 it won't work? I need a 5700 or better?
