For high-end, professional applications such as medical imaging and publishing, equip yourself with the Diamondtron UWG RDF225WG 22" Black CRT Monitor from NEC/Mitsubishi. Featuring a wide color gamut, this model delivers high quality, clarity and a wide color spectrum. Offering resolutions of up to 2048x1536 pixels, it ensures clear, easy-to-read text and graphics. Diamondtron UWG flat aperture grille CRT technology virtually eliminates glare and reflection, to provide consistent, true-to-life images and enhanced color saturation. It features an on-screen display (OSD), allowing you to make monitor adjustments that match your specific preferences. In addition, a dynamic cabinet design includes recessed cable connections to free up significant desktop space, and NaViSet software allows for intuitive screen settings adjustments using a mouse and keyboard. The monitor includes the SpectraView WG Color Calibration Solution, which includes software, a calibrator, and hood, to achieve consistent and repeatable color performance.

i dnt see too much else that really constitutes 4 grand, but i guess you should expect this to be the most badass crt you ever seen and it should last a while. if you use graphics programs or video editing, this is the thing for you.... you can also adjust the monitor with your mouse and keyboard.

the calibration kit is way expensive. the graphic designer for the museum i work at has a very similar monitor. with this monitor, and others in the high end category like it, you are guaranteed to see exactly the color, lightness, contrast and undistorted picture you wouldn't get with any other monitor.

I guess that would be important for graphics design people. CRTs definately have more accurate color than LCDs.
