Question for reinstall

My friend needs to format his crappy comp, but he doesnt have the backup cds. he does have the dell windows xp backup cd.
will this work?

If the dell Windows XP backup CD is the OS install CD then yes. If it is one of those shitty system recovery CD's then no.

Put the CD in and see if a windows install program runs, if so then you should be ok to format if you have the proper CD key. If it doesnt then its prolly a system restore junker or something of the sort.
