i installed a momo crystal shift knob today no problem, everything is fine. i was just wondering is there a way to connect the top of the OEM shift boot to the new shift knob? i dont like seeing the shift bar. or would i have to get an aftermarket shift boot too? suggestions...help...whatever...

I have the MOMO crystal knob also. Just take a ZIP Tie and tighten it around the boot and push it up close to the knob. This holds it perfectly and you woudlnt know the difference.
$50 buys you the matching MOMO Performance boot that is designed to screw into the bottom of the knob. It's also textured leather as opposed to cheap vinyl.... looks much cleaner. I've got this in my car...
That pic wasn't intended to highlight the boot so it's not a close up, but you can see how it threads onto the knob.
On the bottom of the knob, you will notice there are threads for the finishing collar that comes with the knob. Inside the top of the boot, there is a collar (look closely, there's a rigid conical section at the top of the boot) that threads onto the threads on the knob. You don't use the finisher, instead the boot just screws on. Only disadvantage... but because of the design of our center consoles, you must screw the boot onto the knob after it is installed in the shifter panel. Then from underneath, you can screw the panel back into the center console. It's a little bit of a pain, but nothing major. Also be ready to trim the boot to fit. It's a little work, but I think it was worth it.
hey i tried that zip tie thing, doesnt work. keeps coming undone or something. ill just get the shift boot. im also guessing grey made a shift boot diy.
