yeah man just run the wires to the fuse box, or all the way and splice the wires into your headlight wires, although i really think you would like a switch to cut the neons on and off with, if you decide to do this just run the wires to your fuse box (#18 is what i believe someone said) or to your radio (that was my choice) either way just be careful that you know what wires your hooking where

HOW TO WIRE UNDER SEAT NEONS - FOR BEGGINERS

*I do not take credit in writing this, I had it on my comp for a while.*

-----------------------------------------------------

First we start off with a switch. in this case, its an illuminated switch, which has 3 prongs.
Each prong is color coded in my picture for simplicity.

The Red prong is "supply volts".
This will be connected to a constant power wire of the car. In this example, i will be using the Ciggerette lighter to get power.

The green prong is "on ACC". This is the prong in which the power wire from our neon connects to.

The yellow prong is "Earth Ground". This will have a wire connected to it, that grounds into the ciggertte lighter's ground wire, although u could ground it to any metal on the car.

First, its best to get the switch working, before trying to hook the neons up to it. since this is an illuminated switch, we will know it is getting power without a testing light, since its illumination is our testing light :-D

First we will want to get some power going to our switch. As stated earlier we will use the back of the ciggerette lighter. To get there, follow This ( CLICK HERE ) DIY. Follow the DIY until u have removed the piece that containts the ciggertee lighter.

Once u have removed that piece, take out the connector going into the back of the cigerette lighter. So what u have is somthing like this...

Now that we have the switch, and have found the wires to connect it to, its time to connect them. :-D

First lets get some power going into the switch.

Start by taking some wire, and cutting it so that it is the length u want the wire to run from the switch to the ciggerette lighter.

Once u have your wire, u will want to strip one end of it.

It should then look somthing like that. Form now on, i will use a blue wire as the wire connecting the switch to power. The red/oanrge stuff is the bare wire.

Once u have stripped the end of the wire, u will want to put a "quick disconnect" on it.
Then attach that into the "supply volts" on the switch.

The silver box with 2 black lines is the quick disconnect. It should just go right onto the switches prong.

Now we need to connect the other end onto the power wire from the cigg lighter.
Start by stripping the other end of the blue wire.

Then strip a little section of the power lighter on the cigg lighter adapter.

Now u want to wrap the stripped end of the blue wire around the stripped part of the yellow wire.

Then place electrical tape over the connection so no bare wire is shown.

Now we have power running to our switch ( hopefully ) and we need to ground it.
To do this, connect another wire into a quick disconnect and place it on the earth ground prong of the switch.

The red wire is our wire that will go from the earth ground prong to a grounded wire/metal on the car.

Strip the other end of the wire and then you can do one of two things, tape it to metal on the inside of the car, or, strip the ground wire going to the cigg lighter and attatch it there the same way as u got power.

Wiring it to the ground on the back of the cigg lighter is shown above.

Now, our switch should have power, and be grounded so lets test it!!!
Turn on ur car, and look at ur switch, is it lit? Yes, nice!! No, dont be sad yet :-D
flip the switch. is it lit now?

Yes, phew.

No, S**t.

If no, check and make sure everything was done correctly. then, undo it all, and reconnect ur cigg ligther. then test and make sure it still works. if it doesnt, u blew a fuse and u need to replace it, if not, then i dont know what the f**k went wrong, but take it to a shop and never touch a pair of wire cutters again.

FLIP THE SWITCH TO OFF and TURN UR CAR BACK OFF :-D

Now that we have our switch working lets get the neons wired into it. Since u have already learned ur basic wiring techneques, i will not be as in def, cause its mainly just repeating what u did earlier in differnt ways.

Take the neon and cut off the ciggerette lighter adapter.

Now there should be two wires comming out of the neon. One should have a stripe on it, thats the power wire. The other is ground.

Strip the power wire and put a quick disconnect on it, then attatch it to the "On ACC" prong of the switch.

The neon has power!!!!

But now we need to ground it.

The way i prefer to do this is... strip part of ur ground wire that runs from the switch to the ground on the cigg lighter. ( the Red one )

Now wrap the ground wire from you neon around the part that ur stripped away, and secure with electrical tape.

The neon should now have power and be grouned, holy s**t it should work!!!!!

Double check everything and make sure all connections are secured well. Make sure if ur neon has its own switch on it, turn it on, so that u dont accidently think its not working when it is.

Now turn on ur car, flip the switch to the on position, and hope the neon lights up.

If it doesnt, as stated earlier, check and make sure everything was done correctly. Then, undo it all, and reconnect ur cigg ligther. then test and make sure it still works.

If it doesnt, u blew a fuse and u want to replace it, if not, then i dont know what the f**k went wrong.

Hope that helps all of you. The final wiring diagram should look like this!!!

Can you wire both neon tubes for the driver's side and passenger side to the cigarette lighter and the one switch?

yea find a good place to put the neon rod under the seat, mine is right behind the carpet. then run the wires to ur gauge cluster, if u have indiglow then tap it there if not tap it to the connector

an easy way to wire it up is get some 12 gauge wire, (red for power wire, black for ground) an inline fuse (5 amps) w/inline fuse holder and your switch(s). attach the wire to your battery, then about 10 inches away hook up the fuse/fuse holder, run more wire off that through your firewall and into your car and hook it up to the "supply volts". hook up the power wire of the neon(s) to the "acc" and hook up the ground wire of the neon(s) to your ground wire and hook it to the "ground" (of course). if your getting multiple switches you can just link them up... ie A to B, B to C, C to D, etc... you can also hook up multiple neons to single switch (how many depends on the size of amps the switch can handle) its sounds hard and confusing when your reading it but when your out doing it, it all makes sense.

what do you mean by "run more wire off that through your firewall and into your car and hook it up to the "SUPPLY VOLTS"???

you hook the wire to the battery, then you connect the fuse holder then you connect more wire from the fuse holder and through the firewall (you know the wall between you and the engine compartment), there should be a hole on the drivers side. then you hook that wire thats connected to the battery to the "supply volts" prong of the switch.
