I would just like to know what the best method of un-sealing the tail light is, I tried using a blow dryer to get the water out from inside but that's not working. The only way is by taking the entire housing appart. What's the best stuff to use to take the sealent off, of course without harming the TYC Tail Lamp. Thank you in advance.

Hmmmm, tried with a razor blade. Still no luck getting the things off cause I don't want to break the tail's. I'm going to get the water out, re-seal them & put them up for auction on ebay. I'm going to get the all red alteeza's that just came out. Same design but all red & I think they look so much better.
u must use a real heat gun.. the hairdryer i used didnt get hot enuff and shuts off wenit does get hot enuff.. real heat gun and prying is the only way to do it.. the grey glue they use is super tight
ouch i know how you feel, here in hawaii there iw water all around us, this rust is our friend, well most of the locals have old cars which they think is cool to ductape a hole in there car and spraypaint over it to match the existing.... anyways it rains here alot, up 4,000 feet above sea-level, and my 3rd gen taillights are always condensating. once it filled up 2 in of rain water!! AHHHH!! so i figured it was the seeals, tryed the razorblade, even 3M gumm remover, nothing but scratches i left, i gave up, so i drilled a little hole in the bottom right corner or the houseing and left it, it fogs up alittle but no more water. i think it was the gasket that was letting the watter in, through where you install the reverse light...IDK..... but i know this didn't do much explaning, but atleast you know it happends! sorry!
Heh, so the regular hair dryer finally dried the thing's out completly. It just took longer then the conventional Heat-Gun. I ended up not taking the housing appart because it seemed like the plastic would break when i tried to pry it off. I went around the edges of the tail lights where it appeared there were huge gaps between the clear plastic of the tail light & the chrome backing of the tail light. I have resealed it & put them up for auction on ebay. I did not like the way the lights looked on my car so they are for sale.
just use a heat gun on high, AzNmiKex215 is right a normal hair dryer will not emit enough heat to melt the glue that the light is put together with..........jsut take them apart and go to your local napa and get two tubes of the black silicon and redo them,,,,,,,after that reinstall the tails.......dont sell them...

Just make sure you be VERY VERY VERY CAREFUL when using a heat gun...when my friend wanted to take apart his headlights on his RSX to paint them black, he just f'ed up the whole thing...he melted the headlights and now there will be forever water in there. Too bad for the sealant to do anything.lease:
not being smart or anything....but tell your fried to stop the heat when the plastic starts to melt, or as soon as the glue is soft.....its not that hard, although you are right some people dont know when to let up.
