Installation HP header & Race Downpipe

Anyone got them installed..... i read before that there were installation issues...

Tried a search but can't seem to find any info.......

I just want to know will the race downpipe hook up correctly to a catback exhaust....
Planning to get Tsudo catback or Greddy Evo

ive heard some people had to modify the catback a bit for it to align properly with the downpipe. i think it fits perfectly with a stock exhaust though

I think that the only problem came with the HP Racing header (1 pice). I haven't heard anything with the HP header and down pipe.

not sure on the fitment with other catback but i have mines hooked up to the stock one and i didnt have to modify anything.

Yes it will bolt on fine to your exhaust. The only issue is getting it past the motor mount on the 01 ex. I had to support my motor, remove the motor mount, hang the header and put the mount back in, it took about 15 minutes to get the mount off and back on. some people have been cutting the mount, but that's not my style. I did need to shave about 1/4" off of the bracket which attaches to the mount, but this does not compromise integrity. You will see what i am talking about once you have installed it, you can use a dremel and just shave a little bit off. Good luck.

i think xblkcivicx got everything with the motor mounts. i just want to re-affirm you that you do not have to cut your motor mount, just the little black bracket that holds it. also, with fitment to the catback ... make sure you have a donut gasket in between the racing cat and the exhaust. i didnt have one in there for a week or so and it rattled and leaked badly.

taktics is correct, there is no seating issue with the hiflo cat w/ catback exhaust. I used the stock donut gasket which came off the stock cat. This is all you really need. Tighten it down nice and snug. When i first launched my car, shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd it "burped" which was the gasket seating. From that point on there haven't been any issues. There is a donut gasket there so the exhaust and the cat dont have to be perfectly in line, they can be a little off and still maintain a solid seal. Good luck.

does anyone know if you have to shave the bracket for the shorty header too? not the hi flow cat racing style. Just wondering
