One Vehical Problem Solved

ok. Not to long ago i posted a problem i was having with my civic. When i would drive the car 4 about 20 min or so under above normal driving conditions( 5000 rpms or higher ) and shut the sucker off for longer then 20 min or somtimes didnt even have to shut it off just let idel or cool the next time i tryed to reach above 4000 rpms the car wouldnt let me. It would bog in every gear at 4000 rpms.

Only after reseting the brain via the fuse under the hood would it go back to normal (well semi normal). Also before the car would act up it would give you a warning that it was about to do so....I would notice a lag or a feeling of somthing holding me back from 1 - 5000 rpms, after 5000rpms the damn thing would take of like if turbo kicked in. Needles to say this pissed me off big time...

I took it to honda since they claim to know it all when it comes to their cars and to my suprise they couldnt tell me a damn thing. They took a reading of the codes and the best thing they could tell me was it doesnt make sence....( what doesnt make sence i asked? ) the codes it's a bunch of jiberish <------" their exact word " . since you have a these high performance mods ( headers, intake, exhaust, N20 ) you should try taking it to a speed shop...

Well after that i did, to 2 actually and they never hurd of that problem.....

Well now I'm really pissed so i took it home and was going to rip the whole thing apart myself since no one could fix it ,WHAT HARM COULD I DO. After about 20 min or so of inspection i notice i had a exhaust leak ( no biggie ) not enough to make the car act like that....the motor was dirty a little....Humm..well

LETS CHECK OIL!!!!! WTF.......NO F'N OIL......AT ALL...!!!!!..so i added 3 1/2 qts

well it turns out that the car has a sencer or somthing that limits the use of the vehical if their is no oil, a safty messure i guess...glad to have actually..Not to sure how low the oil has to be to kick on this safty mecanism but you'll know because you'll feel it in the pedal.....
You might be asking yourself " what about the oil light" well it never came on....why i dont know maybe the bulbs burnded out, i dont know i have to check.... " where did all the oil go"? that i do not know since the car is running fine and not smokeing, leaking or anthing like that, i need to do a compression test to figuer that part out still ...but what i can tell you is that HONDA was the last to do my oil change, maybe they didnt put oil in....3 months ago! you would think they would check everything if you bring it in and are having a problem with it, you know filters, gas, hoses ......OIL!!!!

The last time i took it there the forgot to tighten the oil cap...guess what happen then....oil evry where...

Maybe they did knowing you run N20...not put in any oil..that way you'd blow your engine..not under warranty because of the N20 and hope you'd buy a new one from them?

Either that or 5000Rpm+ Driving consumed up the oil..

High RPM driving allows more oil to pass the rings and evaporate with that heat and leak out youtr PCV

Gotta love Honda techs. They told me a rattle from the INTERIOR of my car was caused by my lowering springs..therefore not under warranty. Anyway as far as checking the oil light, turn the key to the on posistion but dont start the car. All the idiot lights (ABS, oil, seat belt, etc..etc..) should turn on for a few seconds. Hope this helps.

You should check your oil after every oil change unless you change it yourself.

yup, no one checked the oil, can you belive that...my car sat at the dealer 4 3 days, and they said they checked everything out, and couldnt find any problems with the car. kinda shady if you ask me....

I forgot about the idiot lights going on when you click it once what an idiot i am...lol.

Not going to that dealer anymore...

My 87 civic hatch acted just like that b4 it blew due to a mad oil leak & me being 17. Maybee thats just what happens & u got really lucky, I dont think my 87 had any safety stuff like that, maybee it did???[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]
