update: i'm ready to do my blue led dash interior, but i have a ?

so far i installed my reverse indiglo gauges and i think it looks good, but i have a question before i wire the led's for the dash. i followed the indiglo install diy and it says to tap the indiglo wire to the red and black wire of the guage cluster harness.

problem is that my alarm is hooked up to the parking lights and i think the red and black wire is the parking light wire 'cause when i arm or disarm the car the indiglo gauges flash. i don't want to hook up my led's to the same wire 'cause i don't want the dash light to flash everytime i arm or disarm the car.

is there another wire that i can tap into that would not affect the indiglo gauges and dash lights, but would turn on only when the parking and headlights are on(there are 3 red wires on the same gauge cluster harness, but i would like to know for sure before i do any splicing)? thanks.

edit: reverse indiglo pic added - hard to see in the pic, but redline is red, just like the ac reverse indiglo but without the 'ac' on the face.

it's late and i'm really tired and i can barely read your post

but here's what i know: the OEM keyless entry flashes the parking lights whenever it receives a lock/unlock signal; since it taps in to the main lighting relay circuit, the dash lights come on as well (as opposed to being directly wired to the lights).

so anyway, as far as i know, you can't get around it; and i think it looks goofy too, especially with indiglo gauges. oh well, i just deal with it...

btw, gauges look cool.. got any brighter pics?

there is a way to do it ... when the parking lights flash and not have the dash lights flash ... but it would take a knowledge or relays , diodes and how to wire things up to do it ... it can be done i would need a little time to think about it ... i really dont think it is worth the time or effort... i would just live wiht it ...
