Hey there Civic Folk - just did the install on the Revo short shifter and what a difference. I have to say it is on of the best mods I have done on a car in a long time. I love the way it feels and the throws are short and precise. I also have a leather shorty shift knob so the whole thing is very clean. I'll put up some pics as soon as I get the digital camera. Yep, I totally agree. If you have a manual and is a must have mod!
Nope - if you have good tools and a clue - which most of us here do - it should take you less than an hour. 2 tricks - the left hand tranny cable twists to come out and the central cable comes out by way of a retaining clip (brass) that needs to be pulled off of the inner shifter wall (you'll see what I mean as you look at it). On the way back together you probably want to re-bend the ends of this clip or it will rattle.
It's fabulous - I drove about 50 miles today and while I know the car isn;t any faster it has the feel of a nice German shifter. I seriously recommend a shorter than stock knob as well - the factory RSX knob is nice, I have a ver small leather one that works great. Whiel in 4th Gear I can rest my hand on the shifter and touch the center console with my fingers - it's a nice resting position while driving.
It has already started to flow a bit better, bit it still has that nice tight feel of a new shifter.
Just a question... has anyone tried the Revo short shifter with either a solo or dc sport short shift adaptor? Just curious, 'cause if either one shortens by 30-40% there can't be much of a throw if both are installed. Just a thought...
Grey *(I think)* tried to use the Revo and a Solo adapter but it didnt work for him
the guy who DID get it to work had to do a lil fabricating to make it work but he said it was worth it and the shifts were like a flick of the wrist
from what I read, there are two version of the Revo, and, the old one works with the adapter, the new one doesn't (since they change the cable pivot point and put it where an adapter may be, to shorten the throw even more, supposely.)
I didn't buy a Revo, I got a Neuspeed short shift adapter instead, and that thing works okay too... personally it didn't shorten the throws as much as I think, or either that I got use to it too fast...
I seroiusly doubt the Revo can do much of a better job besides the shorten height of the stick shift... I can't say for sure since I dont have one though... because I dont see how they can change it anymore, I dont see any difference between it and the stock shifter besides the shift point, and the lowered stick. (from the pictures I've seen, anyway.)

at the end, the real bottleneck I think, is how the rest of the cable shift work... you can only shorten the throw so much..
i have the Revo,and simply love it, i dont know how or what the difference is but it works really well....at least a 40% increase in shorter throws.
There are NOT 2 versions of the Revo!
Im pretty sure that one guy that has the "Revo" was shipped the wrong product!
I have talked to a Rep. and they said there was never 2 versions, but simply the RSX 5-Speed was very similar, so im guessing whoevver has that Revo short shifter with the DC adapter just has the RSX one.
