Wow, is that how it is suppose to be done. I did mine a different way, but yours looks way better. By the way, on does latches, is the latch going onto the stock bracket at an angle, cause mine are.

You can place something underneath your lock or latches to lift them off the trunk lid and this also makes the lock latch evenly with the hole. I myself drilled new holes to match where I placed the lock.
I'm trying to find a way to put something else then a latch to lock it in place... I'll tell everyone when I'll find something else that will look better...!
After awhile the bolts that attach and hinges to the trunk lid start to get weak. and now mine's wobbly... I might just bolt it back to stock. It could be my sub pounding that is making it loose... I dunno.
It would be nice if it just gradually swiveled into place and if it had some struts on it so it could open by itself. Of course I don't have time to work on that right now since there is a bunch of other things on my car I want to fix first. But, I think the flip flop trunk is a pretty cool effect, hopefully a super clean way will be found soon...
Here's how I see it: (please keep in mind that I'm an all go no show kinda guy...sleepers are my thing) you are adding weight to the car in order to have your trunk open differently.
I guess this is a "visual mod" and falls under the "to each his own" category, but I think this should be grouped with "lambo" doors and those funky hoods that open from the side or the center...
this is about as rice as it gets...do you have tezzas and a widebody and spinners too?
It is items like these that make people have comments "leave that shit to the Honda guys." I personally respect the potential of many of the Honda engines, but people with this kind of crap on their cars are the reason everyone thinks of Civic drivers as a bunch of rich white-boy Fast and Furious wannabee ricers who can't park, use the emergency lane to pass, and streetrace during rush-hour traffic without using turn signals.
If you are going for this image please debadge your car so that I do not have to be associated with you.
Say no to rice ...anything that is about image and not performance...body kits, "cut" springs, spinners, funky hoods doors and trunks, altezzas, decals, windshield banners, etc. etc. etc.
After seeing what ebay was selling those trunk kits for (20-60), you could go in the buy/sell forum and get yourself a nice sway bar.
now that's a worthy investment...make the 7th gen handle like its on glued rails
PS...my opinions are my opinions and I respect your right to disagree...but I still think this trunk thing is rice

Yeah, everytime I open my trunk now the whole thing shakes, lol. I'm thinking about putting it back to stock, but that would be so much hard work wasted! Freakin' 100 degree weather in Riverside!

DodgeNeon, whats up with that rant... Getting a little too generalized on the definition of rice. Specifically the bodykit part, nothing wrong with adding a few panels to make your car look more aggressive. Definitely doesnt make you a ricer and imply that you are into tezzas and widebody kits and drive like duma$$es.
As for the whole weight thing, how much you think those brackets weigh, like 50 lbs or something? Anyways, I'm just here defending body kits... If you want all go and no show, go buy a Toyota Starlet or something.
