RE: Crankshaft position sensor help required

Hello people,
I am a newbie to this forum so please excuse any ignorance. I am from the UK and I have a Honda Civic 2005 V-tec sport 1.6.

I've recently noticed that the engine malfunction indicator lamp symbol on my car indicator panel is staying illuminated.

I last night had a friend of mine plug my car to his ODB 2 which reported the following codes;
PO339 - Crankshaft position sensor "A" circuit intermittant
PO171 - System too lean

I have booked my car into my local garage to be checked but now I know this is the problem, is it something I can fix? How can I locate my crankshaft?

Any help or advice would be greatly recieved,
Thanks in advance,
Simon
