tapping lifters, seafoam?

94 civic dx 207xxx. I bought it a couple months ago used for a great price. It has been ticking since i purchased it, but goes away quickly after the engine warms up. I adjusted the lifters which made an improvement but it is still ticking for the first couple minutes after a cold start. for what its worth, i have put about 2000 since i bought it and have been using castrol high milage 5w30.

would a conditioner like seafoam help prolong the engine life or fix the tapping lifter? are there any risks of seafoam? feel free to ask for more details.

Re: tapping lifters, seafoam?

if anything seafoam would make things alot worse. tapping isnt bad, if you adjusted everything already then leave it like that. wont hurt anything.

Re: tapping lifters, seafoam?

seafoam is great, especially the newer formula they have, it doesnt clog up ur o2 sensors or anything, all it does is clean the carbon depsoits n such. and mileage doesnt matter with seafoam. i do it ever 30k
