well christmaspie thanks, that's what it was. i called the dealership and told them what was going on and they told me to put the key in the driver side door and turn it back and forth until the alarm shuts off and it worked!!! as for the dead battery i have to take the car into the dealership for them to do tests on it to make sure it's the battery and since it's still under warranty i'll get a new one. only problem now is that i don't have the plates for the car yet...hahaha.
