Drivers Airbag Question...

Ok i have an 02 lx coupe and for some reason when i bought it some dumbass has smashed the H logo in the center of the airbag. so its like just a dented H now. So my question is can i just buy that H that goes in the center of the airbag or do i have to buy the whole airbag just for this problem??? Re: Drivers Airbag Question...

The H doesnt come off of that part... your best bet is to buy a sticker that goes over it to cover up any blemishes. You should post a picture of how bad it is.

Re: Drivers Airbag Question...

well thats a crappy dent! gutted mate, have you been down the scrap yard for a new wheel? first place id check! what u need the air bag for anyway? get ya self a boss kit and a sports steering wheel.... set ya back 100 dollar at most...

perhaps try a sick plunger on the emblem... shove the plunger down onto the dent and try pulling it out like.... might just pop back up... or if the part will come off, take it off and push it out from inside...

disconnect the air bag tho yea! could be a laugh if you dont!

peace

Re: Drivers Airbag Question...

Disconnect your battery prior to messing with the airbag.

There is a screw on each side of the assembly on the steering wheel. They have a weird star shaped-hex pattern (called a torx). Try to find the appropriate fitting head so that you don't strip them. Once these screws are out, you can remove the front cover of the steering wheel. You'll notice that the airbag assembly comes out with the front panel. Remove the yellow clip and place it somewhere safe.

Go ahead and unclip the horn wire and also the clip going to the cruise control button on the right. You should be able to pull the bag and get to your dent.
