Oil Leak!!

I have an 08 Civic EX,MT. After about 12000 miles it developed an oil leak.
The dealer replaced the rear main seal and bolt. It still leaks. Anyone else had
or has this problem?
Thanks,
Dave

sounds like they obviously did the quick-fix...and didn't go searching for where the oil was really coming from...

Re: Oil Leak!!

your sure its oil? ive replaced plenty of p/s racks in those. The seals in the bellow boots break and leak out the boots. They dont really drip like crazy, but it could make a stain on your undercarriage or the ground

Re: Oil Leak!!

I worked at a honda dealer for a month and saw how bad the new cars are. The accords kill power steering racks, the hybrids kill the trans, and the civic has a problem with the water pump. You may also want to check before you take it in to see if the water pump problem has been fixed. (the pully falls off or the wp cracks.) If it has been fixed there will be a punch mark below the 10th digit I think or 8th on the frame vin. Its on the back center of engine bay behind cover that says frame vin. lol But even though the quality has gotten worse from 06up there still good about fixing the problems under warranty. Oyea and just wait till your visors break in half.

Re: Oil Leak!!

my only quarrel with the s2000's are that the red wrinkle coat on teh valve cover comes off too easily.. like you can rub it off with your finger.. the vsa.. dumb.. keeps you from "drifting" but i spose it keeps you on the road.. the 08's have TPMS sensors in teh wheels.. so you really cant have 2 sets of wheels for track day, if you swapped it, you would need to reprogram the sensors to the car.. otherwise you cant shut the vsa off.. limiting the fun you could have..

then theres the rag top.. should have a hard top standard... but you can only get that with the CR now..
