B20 Swap High Idle problem

I put a b20b into a 99 civic hatch and i cant figure out why the idle is high it idles between 1200 and 1500 also if you hold the throttle open a little you get a surge in the rpms, does anyone have any ideas what this problem could be?

Re: B20 Swap High Idle problem

my guess is a leak somewhere in the intake manifold. make sure everything is tight and that all vacuum lines are in place and secure. even a small hole in one of the vacuum lines can cause problems. get soap and water in a spray bottle and spray all your vac lines to try and find the leak (if there is one)... the water will bubble up at the leaking spot.

water wont buble on a vacuum leak. it will suck it in the line. you need to smoke the intake if its a vacuum leak. either a leak or the iac motor is fuckin up

Re: B20 Swap High Idle problem

since its IAC related i would try cleaning out the IAC with carb cleaner.. better yet take off the whole throttle body and clean it up really good. it could also be your EGR valve is stuck open/closed but i dont even know if that motor has an egr valve.
