Re: How to get axels back in?

Right right, what Im going to do it buy a little 5 dollar metal file and try to get it to fit, if not, then I'll just get a new axel, I don't have autozone around here, I've got Kragen, so Im hoping that they have it. If not, there's a napa here too, they might have something like that.

ya, i didn't do that exactly, but I did try to use my finger and feel around inside there, it didn't feel like there was anything out of the ordinary.

I'll continue working on it after work today.

Re: How to get axels back in?

this happened to me also on the driver's side. I put everything back together and had it toed to axle specialist. It ended up costing me about $250 with brakes being adjusted also. I poped it in the first time, but when I adjusted it, it wouldn't go back in. I tried everything. I tried popping it neutral, 1st, reverse, rotating the passenger axle, etc. I ended up towing it. Good luck. Give a call to a mechanic and maybe they can give you some pointers over the phone.

Re: How to get axels back in?

The file didn't work. so I took a dremel and just shaved it down in the grooves to make it work.

I finally figured out that the problem was that when the axles popped out the first time, the top set of teeth got torqued or whatever, so the channels didn't line up. So i just shaved down the top set of teeth to get it to fit back in.

Everything works, it's back in, thanks for the help on the axles!
