I used blue LED's for mine and for the 3 bottom buttons you have to pop off the buttons to get the red film off

Hum... I don't know. I've looked through the DIY's and there's nothing there about those buttons. Maybe do everything in this DIY and it will come to you: .:ash light DIY::.

Is this what you're talking about: How To Paint Trim Pieces Basically you want to order the kind of paint that they mention there. I've read about people trying to dye their interior, but as far as I know nobody had any success.

the way those three buttons are held onto the white stuff behind it makes it really hard to take them out... I will try again later, don't know why they made it so hard to pull out.

They just pop off. once you take the console apart, removing the ac/defrost controls, take a screwdriver or such, and pry one side of the button up a little, and switch to the opposite, and, blam, there it is. As far as cruise control, etc. good luck. There is no diy for them because they are truly a pain in the arse. i don't know about using film, but as far as leds, its a tight area to work in. just a lt of playing around. not for the electrically challenged..

Sometimes this guy has good stuff: LEDSaurus
Better deals can be had when buying in bulk: B.G. Micro

Of course, you'll need to find the right kind of LED's, or you'll fry them. You can use LED's and a resistor to control the current flow as well. You'll need to figure out what voltage is supplied to those stock LED's with a voltmeter. If you just want plug and play, then I think these work: Hyper L.E.D.S.
