or u can just cut the assembly for the rear turn signals and take the bulb and pull out the metal thread and connect it to the exposed wires, and DIY that!!!! To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Xopher - yes that would work just fine... but if you've already screwed up the 1333 resistor... I would be extremely careful attaching a normal size resistor to the relay.
You are working with pcboard surface mounts, which has lots of other stuff going on around it. If you short out something, it could blow out the relay.

ph0ng: I haven't opened up my relay yet or anything. I just went around yesterday collecting supplies. But what I asked before should all be fine right?

<< I was told by the manager there that if I just got a 100k and 33k and put them end-to-end it would act the same as a 133k. >>

- Yes

Mini electronics lesson w/ resistors:
- 2 resistors in series (end to end) = add the values (2 100k resistors in series = 200k)
- 2 resistors in parrellel = halfs the values (2 100k resistors in parrellel = 50k)

So, I just wired on that 100k+33k to my relay. It's all good! It blinks a bit faster than I thought it would I might have to change to that 150k if it gets too annoying. I also installed an aftermarket horn, had no problem with that. My only real problems is putting my front bumper back on. I have a question:
Can't you just get a Heavy Duty Flasher?

Regular Flasher: $1.99 @ local auto supply store - intended for 4-8 bulbs flashing at normal speed.

Heavy Duty Flasher: $2.99 @ local auto supply store - intended for 10-16 bulbs flashing at normal speed.

If u take one of your bulbs out, or if one of them burns out, then your blinkers, blink faster.
In theory if u get a heavy duty flasher then your stock 4 blinker bulbs should flash faster.

the connections for the heavy duty flasher and the regular flasher are the same.
does anyone know if a heavy duty flahser will fit in the stock position?
I hope this helps, if u guys just want a quick and inexpencive fix.

I remembered that I have a digital camera so I filmed some short little vids (about 400KB to 500KB each) of how fast this 133k resistor (100k+33k) make these suckers blink. I also tried to take a picture of the modified relay, but they came out way blurry. But, with the short clips, some of the cosistancy is off, but you'll get the idea of the speed.

If you want to take a close-up pic you should try using macro mode on your camera if it has it. Look for a little green (most of the time, but i've seen them in diff colors) tulip like object. It will lock you lens in a position then take the picture 11-30cm away for most cameras. You should get a crisp close-up of the modified piece.

Where can I find a 200K ohm POT?

Hey,

Really nice DIY.. I actually like the "pot" installs better then resistors.. so I went lookin for a 200k pot at Radio Shak... they only carry 100k pots... so can you please tell me where you found a 200k pot.

Thank you.

it doesn't have to be exactly 200k. you just don't want it to be any less than 200k. I have a 1,000k pot in my car, works just fine.
