Does anyone know how to make the rear seatbelts release?

I just removed my rear deck and decided to take the seat belts off so that I could put down some sound deadening material. To my surprise when I went to reinstall the seat belts to the rear deck the mechanism won't release and thus I can't get the belts back to where they need to be, so that I can reinstall them. Any ideas? To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

I figured out the problem. All that has to be done is that the unit that retracts the seat belt has to be perfectly horizontal. When you do this the seat belt releases and you can get it back to where it needs to be.

Re: Does anyone know how to make the rear seatbelts release?

WOOHOO! spent about an hour searching, and found exactly what i needed!

non-ricer move on my part turned into some trouble...

just tried removing center seatbelt, so i can fold down seats without it being in the way....

THEN found out that the belt connects to the same spot as one of the latches...so i said screw it. i'll deal with it until i find a latch that will work as a single.

putting it back i find it's stuck.... thought i had it level when trying to get belt back out, but guess wasn't PERFECTLY level. :P

got it al back and good now! thanks!

(i hope this doesn't pop to the top of the forums now )
