I just did it myself for the first time at 10k. Used Mobil1 0w20 and a Mobil1 filter. Wasn't too bad to do and I'm sure the next one will go much faster. It gave me a chance to rotate the tires too. I'll probably get a bigger jack tho...mine only goes up to 15" which doesn't get the car very high.

you could change your own oil and use synthetic oil and pay the same $24. that includes filter and oil.

ctx66,

PureOne is a great filter! I like Mobil1 and K&N filters too. Chamption Labs is the winner!

It's too hard to tell from your pic but I think that the OEM filter is a rebadged crappy Fram. If you can get the Toyo Royki (sp) ones made for Honda they are good and much better than the orange ones that are painted blue.

I'll be honest and say that I take it to the dealer. I have time constraints plus insufficient working space at my apt.

I use Honda engine oil and tranny fluid to be on the safe side.

Any filter is fine. They all serve the same basic purpose.

Motor oil is different. Some are synthetic and some non-synthetic. But oil filters are serve the same basic purpose. To filter out impurities in the oil. Read the side of all filters, all say pretty much the same thing. They are filter out the same amount of shit. Just a matter of how much you pay for them. You basically are paying for the brand. Just like intakes. I use fram filters from walmart, I pay $3 and it does the job.

motor oil is not different. oil filters all serve the same basic purpose which is to filter the motor oil. motor oils all serve the same basic purpose which is to lubricate the motor.

synthetic motor oil protects and performs better

dino oil is adequate, and gets the job done

fram filters are adequate, and get the job done

purolator, wix, and champion labs filters protect and perform better

go here , click oil filters, and argue that you are only paying for brand when purchasing more expensive oil filters. id love to see what kind of response you get. next time you go to walmart buy supertech over fram. its about 10 times better for less $
